Caps Rules
1. Ten year olds may not pitch.
2. A runner cannot steal second base or home. A runner can steal
third base only on a pitched ball. A runner cannot steal third
on an overthrown ball back to pitcher from catcher.
3. A play stops wehn the pitcher has control of the ball anywhere
on the infield.
4. There is no infield fly rule. (all infield fly-balls are playable)
5. There are no walks. On ball four to a batter the batter's coach
pitches to the batter. The coach must pitch from the base of
the pitcher's mound. If the batter has no strikes, the coach
pitches three times to the batter, excluding foul tips. If the
batter has one or two strikes, the coach pitches two times to
the batter excluding foul tips. The pitcher must stand within
five feet of the pitching rubber when the coach is pitching.
6. A player may only pitch two innings.
7. If a pitcher hits two batters in one inning, the coach of the
offensive (batter's) team has the option of requesting that the
pitcher be replaced.
8. All players bat, whether or not they are playing on defense.
However, a maximum of nine offesive palyers bat per inning,
unless the ninth batter is hit by a pitched ball. A tenth
player may then bat. The offensive half of an inning is over
when the play ends for the last batter.
9. All games must start on time. A new inning may not begin
after two hours fro the start of the game. Weekdays games begin
at 5:00pm which means a new inning cannot begin after 7:00pm. This
two hour limit is especially important on Saturday games to prevent
games from backing up.
10. Each player must play a minimum of three defensive half innings.
11. Offensive players must remain in the dugout until it is their turn
at bat.
12. Each player's safety comes first.
13. All players must where an athletic supporter.
14. Catchers must must where a cup, this is highly recommended for all
players.
